The project is divided in two parts.
First part is dedicated to organization of various activities:
• Visiting and communicating
• Giving lectures
• Watching movies with after-talk-discussion possibilities
• Educational game playing
• Giving concerts and theatre performances
• Educating in health and well-being
• Photo-sessions for those is interested
• and other activities
Second part requires set organization of letter exchange between old people and people from outer, more enabling social environment.
Aims: To find soul-friends for lonely people
Audience: Anyone, who is willing to engage in letter exchange -
residents from orphanages, community houses, care house and old people
houses.
Project term: Launched in 2011, this project is termless.
Essence of the project: In every care-house and old-people house, you can find lonely souls, which do not have any relatives, or just someone close to speak to. We are creating a unified database of Latvian grannies and grandpas, who want to communicate. We place theirs list with photographs on the website, so anyone can choose whom to write to.
Project in process: We are visiting all relevant places, taking photographs of grannies and grandpas, taking short notes on their
biography and publicise them on the website with additional contact information: place of residence (address of the institution) and full
name of the person. This strategy gives opportunity to anyone to write a letter, send a birthday card, seasonal greetings or simply find a
friend. Our project is driven by volunteers, enthusiastic, friendly people who care, who are and will be ready to lead all events that are mentioned above. We want to offer all creatively skilled elderly people, who have spare time due to unemployment or retirement to join us to express their talents in our project, feel good and needed again, whilst helping other
with limited possibilities. We also address all youth and adult societies involved in art and sports to contribute to our project. We need everyone, who would like to participate, and share his or her talent, skill, love and time, to express themselves in areas listed
below:

--healthcare skills
-- anything that you can offer and that will make elderly people happy.
